REPEAT GEARS FOR ZIMMER OPEN BEARING SYSTEM

Repeat gears are used in all "open bearing" rotary screen printing machines.

Zimmer guarantees a 12 month usable life (based on 3 shift operation) for all original Zimmer repeat gears and tension rings
After that, the repeat gears and tension rings need to be rebuilt with
original Zimmer spare parts and to factory specifications

Zimmer evaluates all gears that are sent to our plant in Spartanburg, SC and prepares an estimate for the customer detailing all parts necessary for rebuilding with the time estimate per gear
Every gear that passes through our facility gets a serial number and is
logged and kept up with from that point on.
Every repair is logged and when it become un-economical to rebuild the
customer will be informed

Zimmer does not recommend to customers to rebuild these very important parts of an open bearing printing machine by themselves because special tooling and know how is required in order to achieve new-like condition of the complete assembly

After rebuilding for about 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost of a new repeat gear or tension ring, the part carries the same warranty and usable lifetime guarantee
as any new repeat gear.

COLOR PIPES FOR ROTARY SCREEN PRINTING

There are many possibilities for damaging a color pipe in daily use:
Normal ware and tear
Break of the pipe
Couplings are leaking

Zimmer only uses original factory made replacement parts (patented rubber magnet holding profile) and special devices and factory approved procedures to repair color pipes

Do not accept any non Zimmer parts on your color pipes for repair jobs as this will void the warranty, reduce lifetime and decrease the printing
quality.

Especially we recommend not to accept any hard plastic parts (riveted) where the printing roll rods runs against as this will result in excessive use of print rods which will increase your printing cost and decrease printing quality substantially

MAGNET ROLL RODS FOR ROTARY SCEEN PRINTING

The quality of Magnetic Roll Rods has a great impact on the quality of the printed material.
Determining factors are the quality of the material used and the finish of
the surface (smooth or knurled) and the execution of the end (round, with
pins or end cups)

Zimmer uses only a special magnetically activated stainless steel alloy. It is especially produced for Zimmer only in metric sizes of diameters (6, 8, 10, 12,15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60 and 80 mm)All Roll Rods on the market that are not metric do not meet Zimmer’s quality standard.
Rods with a larger diameter than 20mm are hollow

Roll Rod lengths available are from 500mm (20") to 5000 mm (197")

Zimmer uses a special patented device to 100% straighten Roll Rods before they are shipped to the customer and guaranties straightness of the Roll Rod for its lifetime

System Overview

The current control system exists of a custom PC, video controller and various push buttons and switches, which interface with Phoenix I/O to control the various functions on the machine. The system components are obsolete, and replacement parts have to be custom made at great expense.

Zimmer will provide a new PLC/PC system with HMI based on Beckhoff System Technology using the Embedded-PC CX1000 .

The Beckhoff CX1000 System is designed for tasks requiring the characteristics and computing capacity of Industrial PC’s. The system is completely modular and can be configured for different processing power, memory, I/O requirements, video interface and networking capability.

Manufacturers warranty is available for all different packages and
depending on the extension of the re-building

Beckhoff Embedded-PC CX1000

The new system with embedded PC technology provides powerful tools for developing code for control functions and process loops as well as dynamic displays and interactive operator functions for the HMI.

All existing Push Buttons, Switches, and Indicator lights, which are located on the front of the existing control panel, will be removed.
A new set of Push Buttons and Switches for the most commonly used operations such as Power On, Start Left, Start Right, Auto Start, Stop, Reset, Stagger, E-Stop, Reset, will be provided.
All other operator functions will be performed from the new HMI.

The new HMI will provide the following features:
