At APR, the Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers, we represent companies who acquire, reprocess and sell the byproduct of more than 90% of the post-consumer plastic processing capacity in the United States, Canada and Mexico. CarbonLITE is a new company founded by plastics stalwarts Leon Farahnik and Neville Browne. When CarbonLITE’s new, 220,000-square-foot bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant opens in Riverside, CA, we will process more than two billion plastic bottles annually. The second phase of CarbonLITE’s development will double capacity to more than four billion PET bottles per year in mid-2013.When operational in mid-2011, CarbonLITE will be one of the largest producers of food-grade Post Consumer Recycled PET in the world. We will specialize in processing used plastic bottles into bottle-grade PET resin flakes and pellets that can then be used to manufacture new plastic beverage bottles and other products. Through new state-of-the-art facilities, technologies, and equipment, CarbonLITE is fully invested and committed to make an impact in preserving resources and reducing the carbon footprint from PET bottle production.
