ATME-I® to Continue with Techtextil North America in 2012
Falls Church, VA, January 28, 2011. American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA®) and Messe Frankfurt USA have agreed on the inclusion of American Textile Machinery Exhibition–International (ATME-I®) with Techtextil North America every even year starting in 2012. The two exhibitions successfully co-located last May in Atlanta. ATME-I® will provide textile machinery, equipment, products and service suppliers a broad textile and apparels industry base to showcase their products and services. ATMA® traces its beginning and that of ATME-I® to the International Cotton Machinery Exposition in Atlanta in 1881.

A SOLAR CAMPUS IN THE NORTH COUNTRY
When the Catholic Benedictine Monks of the St. John's Abbey arrived in central Minnesota in 1850's, they looked to the land to meet their needs. They logged their property and burned firewood in a powerhouse for heat. Later they dammed the flow of a nearby creek to pump water and generate electricity. But in the 20th century, the Abbey and the university if founded, transitioned to fossil fuels, primarily coal to satisfy most energy needs.

Obama Will Soon Put Solar Panels Atop the White House
The Obama administration announced that they plan to install solar on the roof of the White House residence. The system will be installed early next year and will provide both electricity and hot water for use in the White House residence. SEIA has learned that the system will be large for a residence - between 5-15 kW. The White House estimates that the system could produce nearly 20,000 kWh of electricity and roughly 245 therms of heat energy, which will save around $3,300 per year in utility costs.

Unity — Huang Ming, the soft-spoken 49-year-old chairman of Himin Solar Energy Group, the world's largest manufacturer of solar hot water heaters, wore a T-shirt when he appeared at a formal presentation at the Unity Centre for the Performing Arts, Aug. 5. He was, he said, "against the bad habit of overheating and overcooling."
